I’m always looking for software for my Linux boxes, and also always forgetting where I’ve found reference pages listing Linux equivalents to Windows software. So, here for my own benefit, are the various collections of Linux software lists.
(If you’re not interested in *nix software, then move along. This isn’t the post you’re looking for.)
The table of equivalents / replacements / analogs of Windows software in Linux. – The original grandaddy of all Linux/Windows software equivalent lists. I have yet to see any list that didn’t look like it used this one as a reference first. Be careful, though, as some of the software on the list may be abandoned or very early and buggy alpha code.
LinuxQuestions.org > Linux Wiki > Linux software equivalent to Windows software – A trimmed down list without much of the alpha releases, but also without many of the handy subsections from the above list.
Windows equivalent programs – Gentoo Linux Wiki – Not a complete list of what’s in Portage, but it’s a nice start for us Gentoo users.
I looked around for one for Fedora, but didn’t see one. Maybe I’ll have to make one of my own.
