Astonishing X-Men # 19
Writer: Joss Whedon; Pencils and Inks: John Cassaday; Coloring: Laura Martin; Lettering: Joe Caramagna;
Much like Justice, Astonishing X-Men could have done a bit more getting-around-to-the-point. The exposition in this issue was a welcome change. The story begins making sense as Whedon finally explains pretty much everything about the previous 18 issues. As much as exposition’s misuse drives me crazy, it’s always better to have a little than none.
And also like Justice, it’s hard for me to get worked up over any part of the story because the first act went on for so long. Get to that second act a little earlier and have it make some sense.
