Transhumans # 2 Cover

Transhuman # 2 continues the fictional history of two competing research firms as they enter their IPO phase. Hickman nicely pairs the animalistic nature of one venture capitalist with ChimeraCorp’s genetic research, and the clinical attitude of another VC firm with that of the strictly mechanical research of Humonics. And while the results wait to be exposed in the next issue, these bloodsuckers are unlikely to do anything short of a total screwing.

We also are treated to a return of the X-Men-esque apes, along with a nod to Grant Morrison’s We3. Hickman is quite respectful to those whose related stories came before him, and I think that’s a good sign that we’ll see some more thoughtful writing.

Hickman’s issues always sell out at Diamond, so be sure to jump on this one before it’s too late.
