What other comic beside The Goon could have the line “How come I’m always the one left standing here to fight the transvestite?”, and not only be funny but have the line make total sense within the story? And that’s because Eric Powell packs The Goon full of more good, wholesome insanity than any other book out there. Even more insanity than The Bible.
The big change with these issues is Dave Stewart handling colors. Perhaps this will take enough pressure off of Powell that he can continue doing his usual stellar work with The Goon while allowing for enough time to do other mainstream projects which will overload him with giant sacks of money. Here’s to hoping.
