Why is it that Buffy … Season 8 feels like it’s revving the boat motor, readying itself for a burst of speed towards the school of great whites? The Willow sex talk and the ridiculous Dracula moments are all believable enough in that we can hear the actors delivering the lines. But, they’re not lines or situations which are believable for the characters.
Given the show’s long history, believable characters shouldn’t be that difficult to write. But, perhaps Buffy really did reach the end of its lifespan with season 7, and we should have simply allowed it to expire.
Regardless, I’m still bitter about the return of Dracula.
