My notes on this one:
This looks like a book with possibilities, one which would capitalize on the history of the Cold War and the modern War on Terror. And perhaps it does, but I’ll be damned if I can understand it. The artwork is simply too unclear. There isn’t enough distinction between characters and scenes, which makes it sometimes difficult to tell what time period or setting a panel is in. How sad, given that a Cold War meets War on Terror story has real potential.
I suppose that whichever character has no memory of his childhood is the grown-up version of the baby machine on the last page. But I could be wrong, as so much is unnecessarily unclear.
