Testament # 8 – Review

August 7th, 2006 by JP · No Comments

Testament # 8
Writer: Douglas Rushkoff; Art: Liam Sharp

Issue 8 is a huge improvement over issue 7. My complaint with the previous issue’s tenuous connection between the Old Testament story and the current story thankfully doesn’t apply to this issue. This time it’s Joseph and his brothers contrasted with the current story of Alec and the main characters. Since Alec has joined the other side, and he is meant to represent a modern day Joseph, then it does seem likely that Alec will someday be the go-between who lets the main characters out of a government or corporate trap.

After the shakiness of the previous issue, it’s nice to see Rushkoff back to some good writing. The colorist, Jim Devlin, also deserves praise for the beutiful look of the Old Testament stories. The look is absolutely amazing, especially page 4 where the brothers are in the brothel. Great work that folks should be reading instead of the 52 and Civil War tripe.
