Not going to write much about this issue, other than to say that the Babylonian god Marduk is summoned by the other gods. Originally he assumed a place as head god of the Babylonians, so it will be interesting to see where this leads. This continues to be a good but dense story, and it’s well worth the effort to read.
The important news is that DC is offering a downloadable PDF of Testament # 1. The amazingly great news is that Rushkoff now has notes on the first five issues. If it wasn’t for my recent reading of a mythology book and Rushkoff’s own Nothing Sacred, I would’ve been totally lost throughout the story. The notes provide a great foundation for understanding exactly what Rushkoff is doing without reading hundreds of pages of religious studies books. Hopefully he’ll keep doing more of these notes, which would be great. If only they didn’t come out so late after the issues.
