I loved the first four issues of Northlanders, and I expect everything from issue 6 and on to be superb. But, issue 5 felt unnecessary. It’s an issue of flashback where we what Sven’s lover meant to him in order to understand why he’s angry that she’s been killed by his enemies. Except, we didn’t need to see it. We already know that he’s angry at her killers. Anything more is filler added to an already gripping book. Despite the flaws of this issue, Northlanders is still one of the better books out there and worth sticking with until the end.
