The good part of this book is that it looks pretty decent. Sprouse’s pencils have always looked good since first seeing his work back in the ABC universe. Story’s inks look good enough, too. And Randy Mayor’s colors, especially on the battlefield scenes, are satisfactory.
Unfortunately, the story is as lackluster as it seemed back in issue 1. Everything from time-traveling-to-kill-Hitler to the space-time continuum police showing up comes off as cliched. There isn’t an idea in this story that hasn’t been done somewhere else and done better. Maybe it can be rescued in later issues, but nothing in issues 1 or 2 point to that.
Too bad, as the original publicity surrounding the entire Wildstorm relaunch had it looking fun and of decent quality.
