DC Comics

I keep buying these with Grant Morrison’s previous work in mind, but the latest issues fall flat for me. I searched around the web to see if I was missing something, if perhaps some important plot points had slipped by me. Anyone who wrote favorably about the past few issues merely stated that it is all building towards the “Batman RIP” storyline, and all would become clear then. Perhaps it is building, and the resolution will be amazing, but that’s not good enough. Comics are serial storytelling, and something worthwhile should happen in each issue. Other than the “Club of Heroes” story, each issue feels like we’re merely marking time until the big event. It’s not worth it to me, so this one’s off my pull list. Maybe I’ll catch it in trade format, but it’s doubtful.
Goodbye, Batman. Have a nice death.
