After a somewhat confusing issue 666, the “Club of Heroes” storyline was a welcome change. It gives a friendly nod to an imagined silver age past, while recognizing the modern world is much different. This is the best work of Morrison’s run so far, and Williams did a fantastic job switching between modern and older art styles. By far my favorite of Morrison’s Batman work.

Issues 670 and 671 are part of some ridiculous crossover. I skimmed the issues as I simply can’t care again about event books and crossovers. They try my patience with varying levels of quality from part to part. But it looks like issue 672 is back to normal, and I’m looking forward to it.
